The highly anticipated and long awaited Death Stranding is starting to take shape as Hideo Kojima talks a little about it on the Tribeca Film Festival 2019.
With it’s trailer shown in E3 2018, people were left in confusion wondering what kind of genre the game will fall in. Now, we can finally understand what Kojima is after with the notable tidbits that a ResetEra user Cerium shares on the internet.
From it, we can basically grasp that Death Stranding will officially be an open-world action game and Kojima emphasizes on bringing in something new to the genre. Maybe we’ll get to see a breakthrough in a video game genre with Kojima creating a genre of its own?
Then, connection will be a big theme in the game as the player will be alone while at the same time trying to connect. Kojima also mentioned on how an open-world game will be difficult to tell a story because balancing player freedom is necessary, freedom of movement, with the narrative.
Also, the thing that caught our attendtion is how Norman Reedus says that players will cry when playing the game as players will get emotionally invested. Lastly, Kojima says that maybe we’ll get to see more about the game in a month. So, if you’re really excited about the game you might want to take it with a grain of salt because just maybe.
What are your thoughts on this? I do think that the previous Silent Hill P.T was really a bummer and hope that Hideo Kojima will really put everything he has to offer into this. Stay tuned for more updates!
