You might’ve heard about a little game called Plants vs Zombies 3. Popcap announced development on the next title of the popular tower defense game. With it was an invite to play a “pre-alpha” version of the game during its construction. Phase one has begun, with the game to gradually roll out to more people over the months.
Players will need to have an Android device around or more powerful than a Galaxy S7, with Android 6.0 or higher installed. Players will need to use the same Google Play account they downloaded the pre-alpha with to continue playing. The game is made available in batches and may be unavailable. Popcap recommends to try again tomorrow or next week if that happens.
The game’s monetization model isn’t known now, but it’s likely to be free with in-app purchases. The pre-alpha shows no sign of that, at least. Features are being tested, according to the studio, with more information to come.
Plants vs Zombies 3 does not have a release window and is currently limited to Android.
