Arrowhead Game Studios has announced that server capacity for Helldivers 2 has been further increased to 700,00 concurrent users (CCU).
Johan Pilestedt, the CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios announced the news of the server capacity increase on X/Twitter as a final update for the night.
Friends of @helldivers2,

Despite increasing to a massive 700,000 CCU capacity, the CEO says that they fully expect the increased CCU to be reached, signaling that more will be needed soon.
However, Pliestedt does believe that the server capacity increase will at least make wait times for Helldivers 2 more bearable.
Pilestedt also mentions that the team will be making some final improvements for the weekends.
In the few weeks since Helldivers 2 was released, the game has been plagued with server capacity issues due to the unexpected success of the game, causing player numbers to continuously increase, and leading to the server capacity of the game to max out.
That’s not to say that the developers are not working tirelessly to address the issue though. Just yesterday, an update to the game that kicks AFK players was implemented into the game, which may help free up and prevent AFK players from hogging server space.
Helldivers 2 is a third-person shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, it was released on the PlayStation 5 and Steam on the 8th of February, 2024.
The game gained immense popularity since its release, with the game currently having a max concurrent player peak of 457,649 according to SteamDB.
