Five villains from previous Hearthstone decks will be making their return in the upcoming expansion, Hearthstone: Rise of Shadows. These bad guys have formed their own alliance, aptly known as the League of E.V.I.L.
As you might expect, each member brings something unique to the table. The League of E.V.I.L. also has Lackeys, that comprise 1/1 minions that have a variety of Battlecries and are “crucial” to the main baddies. There are five different types, one for each villain.
There are also new spells that strengthen over time with each passing turn while in-hand, on top of callback cards that feature effects which pay homage to Hearthstone sets that included members of the League of E.V.I.L. If you do decide to be the bad guy, be on the watch out for Defenders of Dalaran, as these are the good guys. This faction can wield Twinspells which upon cast, will create a copy of the character that can be cast at a later turn.
Hearthstone: Rise of Shadows will also be introducing Hearthstone’s first-ever yearlong storyline, with 135 new cards and new mechanics added. Pre-purchasing a 50-pack bundle grants you a Jewel of Lazul card back and a random Legendary. On the other hand, the 80-pack Mega Bundle will include the card back, a random golden Legendary, and the Madame Lazul Priest Hero.
