The Hearthstone Championship Tour has finally come to an end with HCT World Championship 2019 in Taipei! This also marks the end of Hearthstone Year of the Raven, as well as an opening for the exciting new Hearthstone Masters program. The finals will be held from April 25 to 28 at the Taipei Heping Basketball Stadium, where 16 of the world’s best Hearthstone players will compete for the title of World Champion and a share of the $1,000,000 USD prize pool.
Sam Braithwaite, the Senior Global Franchise Lead for Hearthstone Esports mentions that this year’s event would be a special one. It is held just a few weeks after the release of Rise of Shadows expansion, which means how well a player can build a strategy or deck using the new cards will mostly decide the winner. Sam also tells us that Hearthstone is looking to attract more players to compete together by switching the format of the tournaments and holds more online master qualifiers.
During the event period, the venue (Taipei Heping Basketball Stadium) will hold a Hearthstone carnival as well. You can customize your own Hearthstone T-shirt, buy official merchandise and more. The entrance is all free so don’t miss out if you are interested! You can also get more info about HCT World Championship 2019 here, or catch the event live at the official Twitch channel.
