A new Hatsune Miku smartphone game is being developed as part of a collaboration between Ateam and Crypton Future Media. Going with the working title Hatsune Miku -TAP WONDER-, the game is scheduled for a release in spring 2020.
The game is being described as a casual and lighthearted experience that can be picked up and played by just about anyone with relative ease. The primary concept of the Hatsune Miku -TAP WONDER- will also involve the collection of ideas from players via Piapro for various elements for the game.
For the time being, the developer is calling for submissions for in-game BGMs and pet designs in a campaign that takes place between 24 January 2020 and 21 February 2020. Results from the submission are to be announced sometime in March 2020. Interested users can submit their works at this website.
The relatively vague description does not really give us an idea of what to expect, but given the subject matter at hand, one can expect some kind of rhythm-based game. Music is a staple of the franchise, so it is hard to imagine the developer straying far away from the general concept, but perhaps there could be some new and interesting gameplay aspects.
Hatsune Miku has got a legacy to uphold, so fingers crossed that this is going to be good entry in the long line of games. In any case, be sure to drop by the official website and social media accounts for the latest information. Given the significance of this release, do expect more details to come out sooner than later.
