Premiere vocaloid Hatsune Miku is getting a collaboration with My Little Pony, via a new figure by Kotobukiya.
The figure is part of Kotobukiya’s My Little Pony Bishoujo Series, which depicts the cartoon horses alongside humanized versions of themselves. This figure will feature Hatsune Miku alongside her own special pony, designed in the art style of My Little Pony.
According to Kotobukiya, it’s designed by artist Shunya Yamashita.
No further information has been given regarding the upcoming figure, as its still very early in development. All we’ve seen so far is the concept art, which features a dancing Miku alongside a pony sporting all her trademark details and color scheme.
Kotobukiya’s Bishoujo Series isn’t the first attempt at humanizing the popular ponies from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Previously, the franchise had a human spin-off in Equestria Girls. However, Kotobukiya’s human designs are entirely their own, and not based off of the series.
Hatsune Miku is arguably the single most popular character in Japanese pop culture right now, having appeared in a variety of videogames alongside a whole host of merchandise.
As the face of a popular digital performance app, Hatsune Miku’s synthesized voice also has a massive discography, with many producers using the character in their own tracks.
