The Hard Drive, a gaming satire site that posts articles akin to The Onion, has made Twitter’s trending list following a public row with Elon Musk.
It all started with Elon Musk’s habit of posting pictures of The Hard Drive articles, refusing to credit the original source, which The Hard Drive called him out on repeatedly.
The straw that broke the camel’s back came in the form of a Hard Drive article titled Zodiac Killer Letter Solved By Opening It With VLC Media Player, which Musk did as he does by posting photos of it without crediting the site.
The Hard Drive replied to Elon Musk’s tweet, promising to “give him a horse”, a reference to Musk’s sexual harassment scandal where the billionaire allegedly showed a SpaceX flight attendant his penis and wannted to give her a horse.
Musk of course tried to clap back at the parody account but was ratioed repeatedly, considering you can’t buy comedy and legally name yourself funny.

The Twitter feud has resulted in a lot of support for the Hard Drive, enough to get the name of the publication trending on Twitter.
“hard drive trending nationally? congrats to all gamers“, reads the Hard Drive Twitter, in response to the news.
The publication also went on a victory lap, publishing a sardonic “apology” on their website titled Hard Drive Apologizes to Elon Musk for Dunking on Him Too Hard.
Meanwhile, while Elon Musk has since deleted the offending tweet, the internet isn’t quite letting him live this down:
“Elon keeps stealing shit from Hard Drive Mag and goes full meltdown right wing culture warrior when called out on it. If they’re so unfunny and woke why does he keep stealing their shit“, writes Twitter user steinkobbe.
Jeremy Kaplowitz, editor for the Hard Drive, posted his own thoughts on the row, which sees many of Musk’s critics enjoying some fine schadenfreude.
