Haikyuu The Dumpster Battle is the first of a two-part movie finale for Haikyuu, taking place directly after the events of Haikyuu!! To The Top, the fourth season of the anime series.
The premise goes as after Karasuno High School made it through the Miyagi prefecture preliminaries for the Harutaka Volleyball Tournament and advanced to the third round by defeating Hyogo Prefecture representative Inarizaki High School.
They now will face off against their next opponent – Nekoma High School, in their first official heated match on the national tournament stage.
Based on the volleyball manga series of the same name by mangaka Haruichi Furudate, the series was serialized in Shueisha’s Shōunen magazine Weekly Shōunen Jump from February 2012 to July 2020.
The anime adaptation was produced by Production I.G, with the first season airing on MBS from April to September 2014. Since then the anime went on to have four seasons, with the fourth season being released back in 2020.
