Streaming service Netflix continues to surprise us with its lineup of games, now with Supergiant Games’ critically acclaimed dungeon-crawler roguelike Hades being added to its library.
Accompanied by a fancy trailer, Hades will be coming to mobile on iOS devices as part of the Netflix subscription later this month, on March 19th, 2024.
A pre-registration is also currently ongoing for Hades through the Apple App Store, allowing Netflix subscribers to be notified when the game goes live.
Unfortunately, as of writing, there is only an iOS version being confirmed with no news on whether an Android version is in development yet.
Aside from adapting the fast-paced isometric action gameplay to touchscreen, the iOS version of Hades will also feature 60 FPS support at launch along with achievements, offline play, and cloud saves.
For those who prefer to play with a gamepad, the iOS version of the game will come with compatibility with Bluetooth controllers, while touchscreen players can also fully customize the touch controls.
Launched in 2020, Hades garnered universal acclaim with many outlets calling it one of the greatest games of all time.
The game has won many awards during the year of its release, including earning the title of Best Indie and Best Action Game during The Game Awards 2020, while also being nominated for Game of the Year along with 5 other awards.
As the name implies, the story is based on Greek mythology with a focus on the son of Hades, Zagreus’ journey through hell as he attempts to reach Mount Olympus.
In our 9/10 review of the PlayStation 5 version of Hades, we described it as “By the Gods, an Excellent Game” and said “Considering how great it looks on the PS5 too, its the re-release is definitely something fans of roguelites, good action games or just good games in general should definitely go and check out.”
Apart from Hades, Netflix has been growing its game library with amazing titles such as Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, Katana Zero, OXENFREE II, Dead Cells, and more.
