Supergiant Games has announced a Technical Test for their upcoming roguelite Hades II, unsealing the realm of the Greek underworld early for selected fans with registrations now available.
This Technical Test for Hades II is set to begin shortly, and its goal is to ensure a “smooth play experience from the start” for the upcoming Early Access release.
It is noted to have much less content than what is planned for the Early Access version and will only include the first major area of the game, early characters, systems, and more.
Furthermore, the Technical Test will only be available to a small subset of players who sign up. However, the studio also said that the test may grow over time and players who weren’t invited initially may still get a chance later in the future.
To sign up, players can simply visit the game’s Steam page and Request Access for the Technical Test.
As for the length of the test, the studio says “The nature of the Test is such that we don’t know exactly how long it will last, though our estimate is longer than a week, shorter than a month.”
“We likewise don’t know exactly when we will launch Hades II in Early Access, since that will depend on how long we end up having to run the Technical Test for.”
A minimum PC system requirements were also revealed for the game’s Technical Test as follows:
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit (or Steam Deck)
- Processor: Dual Core 2.4 Ghz
- Memory: 4GB RAM
- Graphics: 2GB VRAM / DirectX 12+ support
Announced during The Game Awards 2022, Hades II serves as a direct sequel to its 2020 predecessor, which received universal acclaim and won multiple awards including being nominated into multiple categories in The Game Awards 2020.
