Bandai has revealed more gameplay details for Gundam UC Engage, the recently announced mobile game based on the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise.
A lot of the basics were already covered when the game was first announced earlier this month- you send 6 mobile suits out into battle, where they’ll auto-battle against enemy units.
What’s new with the gameplay in Gundam UC Engage, however, is that before a match you’ll be given a tactics board so you can position your units to best counter your opponents formation. Given the rest of the fight is automated, you’ll want to make sure your mobile suits are properly upgraded and positioned in a way that works best for them if you want to win.
Each unit will also have an EX skill, which comes with a flashy cinematic of the mobile suit activating, such as with the Full Armor Gundam from Gundam Thunderbolt using its missiles.
Gacha For that UR Char Aznable
We also have more information about how the game’s gacha system will work. Previously it was believed that only mobile suits would be available via gacha, since one of the pre-registration rewards is a UR RX78-2. We know now that it isn’t the case, since the game will also have you pulling for various pilots, and the individual mobile suits won’t be bound to their canon pilots.
Story
Naturally, the game will also feature its own story, with the various pilots using Live2D models for the cutscenes. It looks like there will also be animated cutscenes featuring the mobile suits.
