Sunrise has announced an anime adaptation of Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans: Urdr Hunt, the mobile game set in the same universe as Iron Blooded Orphans.
According to GundamInfo, they confirmed that the events of the Urdr Hunt mobile game would be getting its own anime spinoff, but did not confirm a release date.
Rather than be an animated series, it looks like they’re specifically going for a movie- the descriptions list it specifically as a film with the following description:
The “Urdr Hunt,” a prize race with a prize money so huge that it could buy a colony.
Wistario Afam, who lives on the abandoned planet Venus, happens to qualify for the competition.
Through encounters and conflicts with other participants aiming to win the prize money, Wistario gradually approaches the mystery behind the race…
This news comes as a good surprise for global fans of Iron Blooded Orphans- the mobile game greatly expanded on the Calamity War-era Gundams, giving designs to a great number of them.
Considering the game announced its end of service before ever getting a global release, the anime film would potentially be a way for western audiences to enjoy seeing them in action.
That being said, Sunrise hasn’t announced any official English release of the Urdr Hunt anime film.
