Bandai Namco Entertainment has given us the Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS 2 Xboost release date, as the title heads out to arcades this spring. The game is a continuation of the Gundam VS series of arcade fighters currently available on both consoles and in arcades.
In a statement, Bandai Namco Entertainment set the Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS 2 XBoost release date for March 10th, 2021. They hadn’t given any indication if the game would be heading to consoles, though the series does have a good track record in that direction.
In their trailer for the game, we see that this title won’t only include series that have gotten an anime, as the Nightingale mobile suit is also present. Aside from that, it will also include more characters from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans and will even feature the Star Build Strike from the Build Fighters series.
The Gundam Extreme series is a series of crossover arena fighters, allowing players to form teams with their friends as they pilot the many iconic mecha from the Gundam mega-franchise.
Like many Gundam games, the Extreme series uses a points system, where players have to pay a cost to repair their mobile suit every time it’s shot down. This acts as a balancing mechanism so not everyone picks only the best hero suits, since those give you less respawns than one of the lower-ranked ones.
