Gundam Conference Winter 2024 – Big Reveals for 2025 and Beyond

The Gundam Conference Winter 2024, hosted by Bandai Namco, brought fans a wealth of updates and exciting announcements about the future of the beloved franchise. Key presenters included Hiroshi Sakakibara, Chief Gundam Officer at Bandai Namco Group, and Naohiro Ogata, Executive Officer at Bandai Namco Filmworks.

GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai

One of the major highlights was a detailed reveal of the GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION, set to debut at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. This unique exhibit will immerse visitors in the sensation of living in a futuristic space colony, showcasing technology that has never been portrayed in Gundam before.

Adding to the atmosphere, staff will don stylish uniforms designed by artist Mogumo, enhancing the sci-fi experience.

Attendees will also find exclusive merchandise, including RX-78F00 Gundam collectibles and mascot plushies. The pavilion will be open from April 13 to October 13, 2025, with more details available on the official website.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX

Fans celebrated the announcement of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, a new anime created by Sunrise in collaboration with Studio Khara, known for Evangelion. Directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, a prominent creator in the Evangelion series, the anime showcases a striking art style and captivating trailer. The event also introduced the main characters, along with their voice actors.

To build anticipation, Bandai Namco revealed that a theatrical compilation titled Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- will premiere globally in 373 theaters on January 17, 2025. Merchandise tied to the anime, including HG 1/144 GQuuuuuuX Gunpla, plushies, and Figuarts mini figures, will also be available.

GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE -FINAL- 2025

The Gundam franchise is set to celebrate its 45th anniversary with the highly anticipated GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE -FINAL- event. Fans can join in the festivities with free admission and experience everything Gundam has to offer.

Gundam at Sapporo Snow Festival 2025

The conference also revealed a special Gundam snow sculpture for the Sapporo Snow Festival 2025. The sculpture will stand approximately 6 meters wide and 5 meters tall, featuring both the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam and the newest model from GQuuuuuuX. This striking piece represents Gundam’s origins and its latest evolution, bridging the franchise’s past and future. You can view it at Odori Park’s Odori Site from February 4–11, 2025.
