Arc System Works has announced that Jack O will release as DLC 2 for Guilty Gear Strive, coming to all versions of the game later this month.
After closing off EVO for this year, as customary, some of the main event games showed off new content, and Guilty Gear was no different. Arc System announced that Jack O Valentine will release for Guilty Gear Strive on August 27th for Season Pass holders, and will be able to be purchased separately starting August 30th.
It’s not surprise that Jack O is the first returning character in Guilty Gear Strive – just like newcomer Goldlewis Dickinson, she features prominently in the game’s story and opening sequence, following Sol Badguy on his trip.
Moveset wise, those who remembered Jack O from Xrd will be glad to know that the spirit of her playstyle is still there, although she’s been slightly reworked. It looks like she’ll no longer be able to set up houses to spawn minions, instead having to manually set up minions herself.
From the trailer it looks like she’ll have the option of setting them up in front of her, or also launching them, making her ideal for pressuring opponents.
It’s no surprise that they’d change her playstyle from Xrd however, given Strive’s change in design ethos. Considering how well characters like Ramlethal got after her gameplay redesign, it looks like Jack O has the potential to be a terrifying character to play against.
