UPDATE: It looks like SEA fans are finally able to download the Guilty Gear Strive beta, but the game is also facing server issues and is currently unplayable.
Lots of fans are looking forward to the Guilty Gear Strive Beta, including one writing this very article. While most regions have had access to Arc System Works’ latest fighting game, the SEA region has been notably excluded without any kind of statement from the regional publisher, Bandai Namco Entertainment.
While regions like the US even had a chance to pre-order the game for an additional day of the Guilty Gear Strive beta, any attempts to search for the game on our regional PlayStation store have proved moot.
One fan who contacted us has taken the trouble of creating a separate US account to access the game. However, even then, he ended up having to do so via the website rather than the PS store on the console.
It should be noted any fans thinking of doing this to get the game when it releases on April 9th, 2021 will have to make sure they buy any DLC using the same account, as cross-regional DLC will not be compatible with the full game.
Currently, the only way to even pre-order the game in Malaysia is by Googling the title, which only turns up the Chinese version of the game, which although has a regional price is not available for purchase.
Weirder still, the store description even mentions the beta as running from 18th February to the 21st, despite the fact that there’s no way to currently access it.
Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia hasn’t commented on the issue, and the title isn’t listed under their published games on their website.
