The Guilty Gear Strive Beta has been announced, allowing players to test out the upcoming 3D fighter on PS4 and PS5 ahead of its April 26th release date.
This demo will feature 13 of the roster’s 15 characters fully playable, meaning that the recently announced Anji will not be playable in this demo. However, the beta will support cross-play between the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game, so those of you who’ve already upgraded won’t have to worry about finding matches.
The Guilty Gear Strive beta will run from February 19, 11 am (GMT+8) to February 21, 10 pm.
Players will have access to a versus mode, as well as an AI mode to train against the CPU. While Bandai Namco Entertainment, the game’s publisher in Asia, have announced that the beta would also feature a training mode, it did not mention if it would include all the features recently teased such as the matchup trainer, or whether it would be a free training mode.
Bandai Namco Entertainment also haven’t confirmed that the current beta would be using the game’s rollback netcode, as the previous closed beta did not use it due to it not having been implemented yet.
While the game will release on PC, the beta is currently PS4 and PS5 only.
Guilty Gear Strive is the latest addition to the Guilty Gear series, whose last release was the refresh to Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-, Xrd Revelator 2. The series has a cult-like following, adoring its unique visuals and heavy metal-influenced soundtrack.
