River City Girls 2 just released and players have already found cameos from Guilty Gear characters Sol Badguy and Jam Kuradoberi who appear in the game.
The new beat ’em up will release for consoles and PC today on the 15th of December.
Both characters can be recruited in new game plus as summonable assists characters. They even use signature moves from home series like Sol’s Gun Flame.

If your wondering how this is possible, the Kunio-Kun or River City franchise is actually owned by Guilty Gear developer and publisher Arc System Works. This means it shouldn’t have been too hard to bring the characters over.
Sol makes sense since he’s the main character of the series although Jam is a bit of an odd choice for a crossover since she’s not in guilty Gear Strive, the latest game in the series. It could just be because River City Girls is a game all about cute girls punching and kicking the crap out of people, which is pretty much Jam’s MO. It could, however, hint that she may be returning to Strive at some point. There’s no confirmation but we can always hope.
River City Girls is the latest game in the River City series of beat ’em ups, which have been going on since the 80s with River City Ransom on the NES. This game and the previous River City Girls were developed by Way Forward and focus on Misako and Kyoko as they take to the streets to defeat opposing gangs.
The previous River City Girls actually featured characters from another classic beat ’em up series now owned by ArcSys: Double Dragon. This includes the character Miriam who is now a playable character in River City Girls 2.
River City Girls 2 is available today on the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
