According to their blog post, free accounts on Steam will have all the same restrictions as ones made through the official website. There will be options to upgrade and obtain all the released expansions with a Complete Collection bundle that will include expansions as well as Living World Seasons 2 to 5. The Complete Collection will not be immediately available to non-Steam players, but it will be eventually added to the web store and in-game store.
In the mean time, the game will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in short order. Updates arriving 23 August include a new series of achievements to earn Proofs of Legend to trade in for a new Decade armour set. The achievements are permanent and will span across the core World Bosses, expansions and competitive modes. Gem store sales and a free mount skin will also go live in due course.
As for future updates, this covers the last of Living World Season 1 Return episodes, a new location and story in Cantha, and World vs. World updates, including World Restructuring and Alliances.
Last but not least, there will be Twitch Drops enabled between 23 – 28 August UTC -7 to get Transmutation Charges, boosters, a mini, a Glowing Purple Mask, and your choice of a classic Guild Wars 2 character outfit. Participation details to come soon.
