Warcraft Rumble has been out for a while now, and chances are you’ve come across the PvP mode in hopes to flex your strategic muscles.
As the name might suggest, the PvP mode in Warcraft Rumble pits you against opponents in real time through the game’s matching system, and is unlocked by getting 8 sigils.
The PvP mode operates in Seasons, with Maps, Towers and Modifiers changing every now and then to spice things up and avoid stagnation. The PvP Map will change every two week and each season lasts around 6 weeks.
The main currency for PvP is called Honor, which is awarded to players by winning PvP matches. Your overall PvP ranking is determined by the collective Honor accumulated by your Top 3 Leader Minis. When another Leader reaches a higher Honor score then the current top 3 leaders, they will replace the lowest scored one.
To maximise the rewards gained in PvP, we suggest that the PvP matches are played with at least 3 Leaders to increase your overall ranking, which would result in earning more milestone rewards.
These Honor points will increase your overall PvP rank and will also allow players to reap in milestone rewards depending on your placement in the rankings. Earning 10,000 Honor Points in Season 1 will grant you Sylvanas Windrunner.
Season 1 (27th November 2023)
Map – Alterac Valley
Alterac Valley is a 3 lane map that features important resources in each of the lanes, with the most prominent lane being the middle lane which hosts 2 treasure chests, making it an important point of interest for players to take control of. Additionally, both the left and right lane have a gold mine as well.
Both players have access to two towers, one being placed in the middle to slightly left lane and another on the right lane.
The next map rotating in will be Arathi Basin.
Tower – Dragon Towers
Dragon Towers deal elemental damage in a frontal cone area, meaning that melee units would suffer the most from the increased damage taken. We recommend players bring in ranged units and also units with the Resistant trait as they take 50% less Elemental Damage. Coincidentally, General Drakkisath with the Chromatic Scales talent would be a nice Leader unit to use since it grants all nearby allies the Resistant trait.
Another key unit that players might be interested in would be the Darkspear Troll with their Big Bad Voodoo talent which grants them 20% health regeneration, which essentially keeps them healthy as the towers won’t be able to kill them due to the towers dealing less damage on far enemies, making the Darkspear Troll a good unit to solo towers.
The next Tower rotating in will be Rocket Towers.
Modifier – Fortifications
The Fortification modifier is new this week and it’s pretty straight forward, granting all towers twice as much Health, pairing this with Dragon Towers makes it much more difficult to take down towers.
Units such as Quilboar can be used to soak damage with their Resistant trait and its Unbound trait where you can summon him in at side the side of the tower to draw aggro before your main force reaches the Dragon Tower.
Gryphon Rider is also a solid pick to deal with the towers thanks to their low summon cost and Mighty Throw talent that grants them +3 to range.
Players will also need to keep in mind if they want to bring in units like the Goblin Sapper as they might not be able to take down Towers as easily since the Tower’s health pool is doubled.
The next Modifier coming in would be Clean Fight.
