Street Fighter: Duel has finally made its Southeast Asian debut after 1 year, here we have prepared a tier list ranking some of the most popular characters in the game in terms of performance.
Street Fighter: Duel is an idle RPG game with a strategic take on the fighting franchise and features all the characters you know and love from the fighting game franchise.
Do note that Street Fighter: Duel emphasizes team building based around elemental themed factions and contains multiple game modes across both PvE and PvP scenarios so characters may perform differently depending on the current composition and scenario. In addition, we will categorize the different character based on their best performing roles.
Character Role(s):
- Damage Dealer – Characters who deal large amounts of damage to quickly defeat enemies.
- Tank – A role made up of front line units with defensive skills for themselves and the party.
- Support – Characters who possess skills that aid the team by buffing allies and debuffing enemies, sometimes both at the same time.
Do note that the tier list is based on early impressions of the game, so a character’s placement and strength may differ in the future when more content drops. This tier list also does not include certain characters available in the global version of the game as they are currently not available in the SEA version.
The criteria for each ranking are as follows:
Rating(s):
- S Tier – These folks are some of the best in the game across all game modes, and are strongly advised to build if you obtain them at any point.
- A Tier – Excellent batch of characters, only falling slightly behind the S-tier units, and can play well in most content.
- B Tier – May require teams to be built around them for maximum efficiency, but can be pretty solid in certain teams or circumstances.
- C Tier – Situational. May not be worth the investment due to limited usage.
Without further ado, here is the tier list for which characters are worth your investment.
Street Fighter: Duel Tier List
S | ||||
Damage Dealer | ||||
M. Bison | Does literally everything. Damage, tanking, buffs, you ask for it, he has it. Literally no one can compare to him.
Tank | ||||
Fashion Blanka |
Despite being a tank, he still does a good amount of damage. He's second only to M. Bison in the entire game for general use.
A | ||||
Damage Dealer | ||||
C. Viper |
A very good AoE attacker that can hit back line enemies. Pairs well with other flame faction units.
Beast Zangeif |
A true beast that happens to have the highest speed in the game. Capable of stun cancelling enemy Supers with his own Super, skilled usage of him will allow you to easily punch above your power level.
Dhalsim |
Can potentially do devastating amounts of AoE and burn damage, especially when paired with other flame units.
Chun Li |
One of the fastest unit in the early game who can enable early combo meter building. Pairs well with most other units thanks to to her buffing her allies' speed and reducing the enemy's damage resistance.
Tank | ||||
Abel |
He has one job, but he does it really well. His skill provides allies with a shield can that can straight up block 1 instance of damage. Combined with his ability to stun, he can deny significant amount of attacks from ever landing.
Support | ||||
Elena |
The only true healer in the entire game. Also provides respectable offensive and defensive buffs to the entire team. Don't expect her to do too much damage though.
B | ||||
Damage Dealer | ||||
Combat Guile |
A fighter that specializes in AoE attacks and Dispel. However, most of his kit revolves around successfully applying these effects which are not guaranteed. Would require a lot of investment to shine.
Mad Ryu |
A good single target damage dealer that the game gives really early for free, but sadly falls off fast after the early game.
Cammy |
A relatively fast unit with good single target damage, but is surprisingly fragile. Pair her with a good tank for best results.
Guy |
Another back line attacker with a super that can potentially interrupt the enemy. Other units such as C. Viper could do what he does better though and unlike Beast Zangeif, he can't interrupt boss attacks.
Decapre |
Has great execute damage but requires building a team around her instead of the other way around to maximize her abilities.
Tank | ||||
Honda |
Can interrupt front line Supers with his combo skill but is extremely vulnerable to dots. His one time immunity does not help much either.
Support | ||||
Rose |
Potentially not as good at healing as Elena, but can provide strong buffs and debuffs through her unique Tarot mechanic. She only shines with heavy investment and a generous amount of RNG.
C | ||||
Damage Dealer | ||||
Guile |
Does AoE damage like his combat version but without the Dispel or any of his gimmicks.
Yang and Yun |
Although they're 2 separate units, they rely on each other being in the team to get the full use out of their kit. That's 2 slots occupied where you could put better individual units.
Poison |
A generally good buffer and debuffer and decent damage dealer with a bonus against male enemies, but you have better options for applying those specific debuffs. Additionally, most fights don't drag on long enough to get the most use out of her kit. |
Hopefully, this tier list can help you plan ahead efficiently on which characters to spend resources on or who to target when pulling. Do keep in mind that if you decide to build another character, you can reset the levels and stats for your current characters for free while receiving all the resources you have spent on them to use on someone else.
However, as with any gacha game, we recommend you invest in a character you like rather than blindly following meta.
