Sonic Frontiers has been released and many agree it’s a good time but one criticism of the game is the final boss which many found to be underwhelming. The truth is though, that isn’t the real final boss. The true final boss is hidden away but there’s an easy way to access them.
Here’s how you can fight to true boss of Sonic Frontiers:
Getting The True Final Boss
Fighting the Sonic Frontiers’ true final boss is pretty simple: they’re only available in hard mode. You’ll be able to set the difficulty right at the start of the game and while easy and normal get you the standard final boss, hard will get you the true boss.
Now you may be thinking: I don’t really wanna play the game hard just to get to the final boss. Well, the good news is that you don’t have to. By going into the game’s settings, you can change the difficulty at any time.
In order to fight the true final boss, all you have to do is change the difficulty to hard any time before you pick up the sixth chaos emerald on the final island. Doing so will lock you on to the much harder, more exciting true final boss.
The Ending
We should also note here that the actual ending cutscenes of the game do not change depending on which version of the final boss you beat. The main difference is that the final boss in easy and normal mode only lasts a few seconds, making it feel somewhat anti-climactic. The hard mode boss brings in the challenge you’d expect from the big bad of the story and ends the game with a bang.
Sonic Frontiers is available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
