Ability Breakdown
Diggers’ kit generally revolves around offensive and defensive debuffs, controlling the battle to his terms and greatly slowing down his enemies’ advances.
This laid-back lad can contribute a lot to his allies in terms of defensive debuffs. The first way he does this is to inflict the Weakness debuff on enemies at a consistent pace through his Skill 1 to reduce their damage output.
Meanwhile, his Skill 2 can disable enemies from building up their Ultimate through the Moxie reduction of the Terror debuff, effectively halting any chances of them ever casting their most offensive ability.
That is not all, Diggers is also no slouch when it comes to offensive pressure as his Skill 2 also reduces the Reality and Mental DEF of his enemies, allowing allies to dish out more damage. While the potency of the DEF reduction is in no way close to specialists like Baby Blue, Diggers’ other control-focused debuffs make him somewhat of a jack of all trades.
Not to mention his Ultimate, which inflicts Nightmare onto his enemies and disables them from acting. All while his Insight III grants allies with some Shields at the start of the battle. All these defensive debuff options made Diggers a rather effective unit when it comes to dealing with tough encounters.
Psychubes
What about Psychubes? When it is about time to gear Diggers up, Luxurious Leisure is a good choice as it can provide a good chunk of damage boost once he casts his Ultimate, and the more he does this, the higher the damage gain will be.
Another good alternative is Brave New World, which provides a similar effect at enhances his damage output. Alternatively, Yearning Desire is also a great choice as it strengthens Diggers’ damage output when there are certain debuffs on enemies.
If you seek for survivability option, you can go with either His Bounden Duty or A Free Heart, the former restores HP to Diggers as he defeats an enemy while the latter reduces DMG Taken when his health is below 50%.
Synergies
Diggers’ flexible nature makes him compatible with many team options, especially those with glass-cannon DPS that possess ridiculous damage output in exchange for being squishy, such as Charlie, Eagle, and Melania.
Charlie especially would love Diggers’ company as she does not pair well with DMG buffers and thus would want an ally to reduce the enemy’s DEF instead to bolster her damage output.
When teaming up with squishy carries, Diggers play a crucial role in providing valuable debuff to weaken enemies so the DPS can focus on their role of unleashing potent damage. Against enemies weak to Plant, Diggers can also serve to support allies with said Afflatus such as Druvis III and Satsuki, allowing them to begin inflicting Petrify while unleashing potent damage.
Should You Pull
The answer of whether you should pull for Diggers depends on your current roster of Arcanists in Reverse: 1999. He is generally a good support who has access to a wide variety of crowd control debuffs, making him a reasonable member of any team with squishy carries.
While he may still be a good stand-in for other powerful debuffer, it is to note that his DEF reduction is in no way as potent as specialists like Baby Blue, Twin Sleep, and Bkornblume. It is also worth noting that he can also provide direct defensive options since his Insight 3 grants allies with some Shields, but again, not as strong as specialists like Tennant.
That said, he can be a valuable Arcanist in certain team compositions or against some enemies, all thanks to his array of defensive options and a universal DEF shred ability. Basically, pull for him if you are looking for a good supporter and a good time.

Reverse: 1999 is a 20th Century Time-Travel Strategic RPG developed by Bluepoch.
On the last day of 1999, the "Storm" fell upon the world. You witnessed an era reversed beneath the rising raindrops. Defying all reasons, what unfolds in front of you is the world of an era long past.
As the Timekeeper, observer of eras, you are free to travel through these eras after each "Storm." With the aid of Sonetto, a powerful Arcanist and ally from the Foundation, your mission is to travel through eras to where the "Storm" is most active, find other Arcanists who can sense the coming "Storm," and save them from being "sifted out" of the timeline.
