For Elden Ring as is with other Souls games, fans might be clamoring to get to their favorite weapons, such as the Zweihander.
The Zweihander is one of the newly named Colossal Swords in Elden Ring, sporting heavy weight, high Strength requirements and overcoming you with a sudden urge to cosplay Guts from Bersertk.
Thankfully, as compared to the other Colossal Swords it’s actually fairly easy to get the Zweihander, even being possible to get it without having killed any bosses. All you really need is some Runes, which you can farm off of enemies if you so desire.
The Zweihander is located in the southern area of Limgrave, the first area in the game. All you’ll need to do is ride south towards Castle Morne, then turn right at the fork after the Troll enemy and keep going until you head to the beach.
It’s here you’ll meet the Isolated Merchant, who is also next to the aptly named Isolated Merchant Site of Lost Grace. Once you talk to him, you can just buy the Zweihander off of him for 3500 Runes.
As a Colossal Sword, the Zweihander is actually one of the most accessible weapons in the game. It only needs 19 STR and 11 DEX to wield, meaning that if you wanted to two-hand it any class with at least 10 STR could go for it.
It also sports a thurst-type heavy attack similar to other games, and its weapon art can be swapped out since it’s a fairly generic weapon.
The long and short of it is that the sword’s just a really good balance of the strength of other colossal swords and the actual usability of smaller weapons, owed to its modest weight and unmodest damage. Even if you’re not one of its devotees chasing it from game to game, it’s a good weapon to pick up if you’re willing to sacrifice some speed for a lot more kick.
