Monster Hunter Stories 2 is meant to get the second half of Title Update 4 today, with players getting access to Dreadking Rathalos, however some players are reporting the game not updating.
Despite their games being updated to the latest version of the game, it looks like players are saying that they’re not getting the notification telling them about the new content or having it playable.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to get the game to update so you can enjoy the new Monstie as well as the other quests coming to the game.
How To Fix The Dreadking Rathalos Update Bug
- You’ll need to talk to the Connecticat in town, the NPC who handles DLC for the game. You’ll need to open up the DLC menu- you won’t have to buy anything, just open up the menu.
- Next, you’ll want to cancel and quit the conversation with the cat. After you quit the menu, quit the game and return to the title screen.
- Once you’re at the Monster Hunter Stories 2 title screen, you should get a pop-up telling you about the Dreadking Rathalos update being installed.
- Now, you can launch your game and you should have access to the content. You’ll know you’ve done it right when you get this pop-up:
What Causes The Dreadking Rathalos Update Bug
It looks like the cause of the bug is the game having downloaded the update, but refusing to unlock the content for whatever reason. By talking to the Connecticat, the game forces a check of the content you already have, which is probably what causes it to recognize the update and allow you to access its content.
Capcom hasn’t issued a statement yet over the official cause of the bug, but we’ve confirmed the fix works on our own end.
