Arena battles finally let Vital Bracelet owners challenge one another in ranked online PvP—this guide will teach you how to rank up fast. Note that I will be using the Japanese names and terms for this guide, as that is the language used in the Vital Bracelet Lab app and its Arena fights.
The Arena is accessible through the new tab on the bottom right of your screen in the Vital Lab app. In this screen, the top option is the Raid battle, while the bottom option is Training. The Arena fights are in the middle, split between different categories of open (Omegamon), child (Pulsemon), adult (Bulkmon), perfect (Boutmon) and ultimate (Kazuchimon).
Players can take part in every Arena category for the first 3 times daily without spending an Arena Ticket. After the first 3 times in a category, Arena Tickets will be required for said category.

UPDATE 6/7/2021: Rewards for Arena have changed
While you can gain Vital Points through Arena fights, it is not recommended because you want your participating Digimon to be already at max VP when they fight. Instead, the main objective is to win Raid Tickets from the rank rewards.

The Arena is also a great way to farm Tamer Rank experience and V-COINs by selling Archives (the items that look like a stack of coins).
Previously, the Arena was a source of 60m Evolution Timers. However, with the recent update, the Arena is now primarily used for getting Raid Tickets. Simply using the daily 3 free entries and you are pretty much guaranteed to get into the top 2,000, ensuring 5 Raid Tickets (25 if you participate in all 5 categories).
Ranking up fast
Arena fights are basically identical to the fights in the Vital Bracelet, with the exception of the charge bar at the bottom screen which dictates whether your attack turns into critical. Other factors such as attribute types and stats remain the same. To learn more about the stats and other factors that play into a Vital Bracelet Arena battle, you can read our guide on that topic. Also, an important warning: your Digimon can still lose VP if defeated and they may also die if injured or fighting too many times while injured.
Before we learn how to maximise the number of points we earn per fight, we first have to look at how points are calculated. You may be surprised to learn that it is entirely possible to win and not earn any points.
The winner is always the one with more HP. If you deal 0 damage, you earn 0 points.
This is because winning or losing does not affect the points your earn. Winning or losing only determines your item rewards, such as the Arena Tickets or Archives, and the amount of Tamer Rank experience you earn.
There are only 2 factors that affect the points you earn. They are:
- The amount of damage you dealt to the opposing Digimon
- The point bonus multiplier
Thus, if you dealt exactly 1,400 damage to your enemy Digimon and your point bonus multiplier is 2.0, the number of points you will earn is 2,800.
As a result, the trick to maximising the number of points per battle is to deal as much damage to the opponent as possible. The end result is usually overkilling the opponent.
Maxisiming damage output
The strategy that I used to push my max VP MetalGreymon (Virus) to the top spot in the Perfect category is to only fight Data Digimon while using EVA Chip 5t_050, ATK Chip ALL 1t_150 and ATK Chip Data 1t_200. If money is your concern, do not worry—selling 1 Buried Archive can buy you exactly 5 battles worth of the above items. You will have so much money from winning, you will have trouble spending them all!
The idea is to use both ATK Chips to stack as much damage as possible into a single hit. A critical hit from my MetalGreymon (Black) with these effects in play usually results in 2200 – 2400 damage. When combined with my 3.0 point bonus multiplier, I will earn upwards of 6 – 7k+ points per fight.
The EVA Chip 5t_050 increases my Digimon’s evasion. While it does not increase accuracy outright, not getting hit by the enemy Digimon’s attacks did increase the odds of my attack connecting. However, do note that it is still possible for both Digimon to successfully dodge in the same turn or for their attacks to clash, resulting in nothing happening.
Should the boosted Turn 1 critical miss, then the next best thing to do is to deal damage beyond the HP cap of the enemy’s Digimon with your attacks. For example, my MetalGreymon (Virus) deals around 500 – 600 damage with a normal attack, and around 700 – 800 damage with a critical.
If I am facing an enemy Digimon with 1,200 HP for example, then I would hit the enemy Digimon with 2 normal attacks, before finishing it off with a critical, which total up to around 1,800 damage dealt. The EVA Chip 5t_050 makes it much easier to pull off since the odds of my Digimon getting hit are a lot lower.
This strategy applies to all Arena categories. Simply replace the ATK Chip Data 1t_200 to the attribute of the enemy Digimon that you are facing, ideally the one that is weak to your Digimon. Do not forget to only use max VP Digimon in a fight as they will perform better than lower VP versions of themselves.
The Meta
Since the goal is to deal as much damage as possible, some Digimon will always earn more points than others due to the damage they can inflict.
In the Perfect category for example, Mamemon and Big Mamemon have the highest AP out of any other Perfect Digimon, at 10 AP. A boosted critical from these 2 Digimon may result in damage close to 3,000, higher than any other Digimon of the same stage.
However, the reason why I picked MetalGreymon (Virus) is because of its higher DP. DP affects accuracy, and you will find this strategy to be a lot more consistent in execution than when using either Mamemon or Big Mamemon.
Also, with my MetalGreymon (Virus), I exclusively fight against Digitamamon or Big Mamemon as they are the Data Digimon with the lowest DP in this category. Enemy Digimon HP is not a factor since all Digimon of the same category will die on a boosted Turn 1 critical hit. Enemy Digimon AP is also basically negligible, since you have to be incredibly unlucky to die as a max VP Digimon with type advantage and EVA Chip 5t_050.
For the child category, all Digimon’s stats are the same. Thus, you only want to choose opponents that are weak against your Digimon.
For the adult category, the best Digimon to use are:
- Bulkmon
- Greymon
- Garurumon
- Birdramon
- Yukidarumon
- Tortamon
- Tobiumon
- Greymon (Blue)
- Garurumon (Black)
These Digimon are tied for having the best combination of stats. If you are using the aforementioned Vaccine Digimon, you want to fight against Algomon (Adult) or Namakemon as they are the Virus Digimon with the lowest DP. For Greymon (Blue) and Garurumon (Black), you want to fight against Meramon and Shellmon as they are the Data Digimon with the lowest DP. Unfortunately, the Adult Data Digimon are inferior to their follow Vaccine and Virus Digimon in terms of stats, so stick with either Vaccine or Virus Digimon.
For the Perfect category, the best Digimon to use are:
- Piranimon
- Vulturemon
The Volume 2 Dim Card set Virus Digimon have the best combination of DP and AP. With these Digimon you want to fight against either Digitamamon or Big Mamemon as they are the Data Digimon with the lowest DP. Other Perfect Digimon do not have 7 DP and 10 AP, making Piranimon and Vulturemon the best Digimon to use at the moment.
For the Ultimate category the best Digimon to use are:
- Plesiomon
- AncientSphinxmon
Both of these Digimon have 10 DP and 16 AP, the best possible combination of accuracy and damage amongst all the other Ultimate Digimon. With Plesiomon, you should fight against WarGreymon as it is the Vaccine Digimon with the lowest DP. AncientSphinxmon should fight against MetalGarurumon as it is the weakest Data Digimon (others have higher AP, so it will be more risky).
Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode, despite having 10 DP and 16 AP, is not recommended due to its inability to gain type advantage.
For the Open category, the best Digimon to use are:
- Plesiomon
- AncientSphinxmon
As the Digimon with the best AP and DP, you should go forth and bully all the weakest Digimon in the game.
For Plesiomon, you should fight against Pulsemon or Agumon. For AncientSphinxmon, you should fight against Gabumon, Blucomon, Sangomon or Meramon.
Note that these Digimon listed in this guide to use and fight against in the Vital Bracelet Lab Arena are suggested purely in terms of stats and numbers. Ultimately, luck is still a deciding factor. If you are winning more Arena Tickets per fight, then you have a better chance of getting a higher rank.
You may refer to the Digimon list at humulos.com to look at the Digimon stats yourself.
With the addition of the Arena mode, the Vital Bracelet has turned from a simple fitness-based virtual pet activity to a full-blown competitive online game. Whether you decide to grind towards the top or attempt the fights in a casual manner, it is your choice in the end.
