Jingliu, former sword champion of the Luofu, is slicing and dicing her way into Honkai Star Rail, joining her old comrades to become playable in the Version 1.4 update.
Bestowed with the title “Transcendent Flash”, Jingliu was once the sword master of the Xianzhou Luofu and is one of the legendary heroes of the High-Cloud Quintet. She mentored Arbiter-General Jing Yuan in the way of the blade before succumbing to the Mara.
Character Preview
Jingliu is a 5★ Ice-Type character who walks the Path of Destruction. She specializes in sacrificing her allies’ health in exchange for strengthening her own abilities by tapping into a special state.
Lucent Moonglow (Basic ATK)
Deal Ice DMG to a single enemy target.
Crescent Transmigration (Talent)
When Jingliu obtained a number of Syzygy stacks, she entered the Spectral Transmigration state with her Action Advanced and her CRIT Rate increased. Then, Jingliu’s Skill “Transcendent Flash” is enhanced to “Moon On Glacial River“, and only this Enhanced Skill is available for use in battle.
When Jingliu uses an attack in the Spectral Transmigration state, she consumes HP from all other allies equal to a percentage of their respective Max HP. This consumption cannot reduce allies’ HP to less than 1 and kill them.
Jingliu’s ATK then increases proportionately based on the total HP consumed from all allies for this attack, capped at a percentage of her base ATK, lasting until the current attack ends.
Note that Jingliu cannot enter the Spectral Transmigration state again until the current state ends. Syzygy can stack up to 3 times and when it becomes 0, Jingliu will exit the Spectral Transmigration state.
Transcendent (Skill)
When activated, Jingliu deals Ice DMG to a single target and gains a number of Syzygy stacks.
Moon On Glacial River (Enhanced Skill)
After entering the Spectral Transmigration state, Jingliu’s Skill “Transcendent Flash” will become the enhanced “Moon On Glacial River“.
When using Moon On Glacial River, Jingliu deals Ice DMG to an enemy and adjacent targets, consuming a number of Syzygy stacks.
This ability does not consume Skill Points.
Florephemeral Dreamflux (Ultimate)
When cast, Jingliu deals Ice DMG to an enemy and adjacent targets, while gaining a number of Syzygy stacks.
Shine of Truth (Technique)
When using the Technique, Jingliu creates a dimension around her that lasts for a duration, inflicting Freeze on all enemies in close proximity.
If Jingliu enters combat with enemies in the dimension, she will regenerate Energy and obtain a number of Syzygy stacks, with a chance of Freezing enemy targets for a few turns. Enemies under the Frozen status cannot take action and will receive Additional Ice DMG at the start of each turn.
Only 1 dimension created by Jingliu can exist at a time.
Ascension Traces
Deathrealm (Ascension 2) – While under the Spectral Transmigration state, Jingliu’s Effect RES is increased.
Sword Champion (Ascension 4) – After using her Skill, Transcendent Flash, Jingliu’s next action is Advanced Forward.
Frost Wraith (Ascension 6) – While in the Spectral Transmigration state, the damage of Jingliu’s ultimate, Florephemeral Dreamflux, is increased.
In general, Jingliu’s playstyle revolves around building the Syzygy stacks to put her into the Spectral Transmigration state, with each attack done in such a state also damaging her own teammates while further bolstering her damage output.
This particular playstyle is quite befitting of a character who walks the Path of Destruction and with proper consideration of team compositions, Jingliu can unleash formidable damage. However, since she consumes the health of her allies, some players may not find her comfortable to utilize especially when the HP damage adds up and causes dire situations to arise.
That said since both her Enhanced Skill and Ultimate hit enemies in a broad area, Jingliu can be effective in different situations where there are crowds of enemies that are weak to Ice. Her capacity to strengthen her damage also allows her to deal consistent damage throughout the fight.
Eidolons
A thing to note about Jingliu’s Eidolon is that she is already quite a capable damage dealer without any of them unlocked, however, her damage potential will continue to climb as you pull for more of her duplicates.
Her Eidolon 1, Moon Crashes Tianguan Gate, increases Jingliu’s CRIT DMG for 1 turn after she uses either her Ultimate or Enhanced Skill. If there is only a single enemy being attacked, Jingliu will further deal additional Ice damage to the enemy.
Moving on, her Eidolon 2, Crescent Shadows Qixing Dipper, grants Jingliu’s next Enhanced Skill DMG by a significant amount after using Ultimate.
Meanwhile, her Eidolon 4, Lunarlance Shines Skyward Dome, further increases the ATK gain while consuming allies’ HP during the Spectral Transmigration state, greatly enhancing her damage potential.
Lastly, Eclipse Hollows Corporeal Husk, her Eidolon 6, increases Jingliu’s Syzygy stack limit by 1 as well as gaining 1 extra stack when she enters the Spectral Transmigration state. When Jingliu is in the Spectral Transmigration state, her CRIT DMG is also greatly increased.
As you can see, all of Jingliu’s Eidolons serve to greatly enhance her damage potential, allowing her to be a formidable damage dealer, thus worth considering if you have Stellar Jades to spend.
Recommended Relics and Planar Ornaments
Jingliu’s role will primarily focus on being a main damage dealer and maximizing her strength means you should focus on the appropriate offensive stats such as hitting the recommended 1:2 CRIT Rate CRIT DMG ratio as well as boosting her ATK stats.
Note that she innately increases her CRIT Rate by entering the Spectral Transmigration state, thus it is advisable to focus more on CRIT DMG.

Suggested Light Cones
As with all 5★ limited characters in Honkai Star Rail, Jingliu follows the same pattern, which is that her signature Light Cone is specially designed for her and has a natural synergy with her kit, thus it will be her best-in-slot.
Her signature Light Cone is “I Shall Be My Own Sword” and its effects are as follows:
- Increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 20%. When an ally gets attacked or loses HP, the wearer gains 1 stack of Eclipse, up to a max of 3 stacks. Each stack of Eclipse increases the DMG of the wearer’s next attack by 14%. When 3 stacks are reached, additionally enables the attack to ignore 12% of the enemy’s DEF. This effect will be removed after the wearer uses an attack.
Alternatively, there are also plenty of other great Destruction Light Cone options in Honkai Star Rail for Jingliu, given her flexible kit.
5★ Light Cone(s) | ||||
Whenever the wearer attacks, their ATK is increased by 8% in this battle, up to 4 time(s). When the wearer inflicts Weakness Break on enemies, the wearer's DMG increases by 12% for 2 turn(s). | Obtainable from Herta’s Store in the Simulated Universe, this Light Cone is a budget-friendly and solid option for Jingliu. Aside from the enhanced ATK for each time she attacks, this Light Cone also effectively bolsters her damage output as she triggers a Weakness Break.

At the same time, the wearer's DMG increases by 24% until the end of their next turn. This effect cannot stack and can only trigger 1 time per turn. | An excellent option for Jingliu as this Light Cone synergizes with her abilities and significantly amplifies her damage potential.
Something Irreplaceable
Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 18%. When the wearer uses their Basic ATK, they will gain 1 stack of Dragon's Call, lasting for 2 turns. Each Stack of Dragon's Call increases the wearer's ATK by 18% and Energy Regeneration Rate by 6.0%. Dragon's Call may be stacked up to 2 times. | Imbibitor Lunae’s Light Cone is another great option for Jingliu, boasting a high CRIT Rate increase as well as regularly bolstering ATK.
Brighter Than the Sun | ||||
4★ Light Cone(s) | ||||

Final Thoughts
Judging from her abilities and damage output, Jingliu proves to be an excellent addition to the ever-increasing Destruction roster in Honkai Star Rail. Her playstyle largely involves the constant gain of the Syzygy stack to put her into the Spectral Transmigration, harnessing the state to greatly increase her damage output.
Since tapping into the Spectral Transmigration state damages her allies for her own benefit, this complements any characters who have a kit involving losing health for more damage like Blade and Arlan. As such, Jingliu will be able to align herself with other high-damage characters for potent and offensive double-DPS team composition.
Damaging her allies also means that high HP defensive characters such as Fu Xuan are recommended to pair with her, while a strong healer such as Luocha, Bailu, and Lynx is a must to keep other teammates alive.
She is also a Skill Point (SP) neutral character as before entering the Spectral Transmigration state, she would want to cast skills as much as possible to gain more Syzygy stacks, but upon tapping into such a state, she will no longer use SP.
Given such as flexible skill kit while being SP neutral, Jingliu opens up new considerations for team compositions, allowing her to be paired with many great supports for some devastating high DPS teams. If you are looking for a powerful Ice DPS, Jingliu is definitely worth the consideration.
