Self-proclaimed survival expert Tove braced through the blizzard and is dropping into Goddess of Victory: Nikke in the upcoming event, Alone Survivor.
Passionate and cheerful, Tove is a mechanic who finally got to join her dream squad, Unlimited as she embarked on search operations with them and showcases her self-proclaimed expertise in survival knowledge.
Tove is a Water Code, Burst I, SSR Supporter class Nikke specializing in strengthening allies using Shotguns. She is manufactured by Missilis and wields an Assault Rifle named Energetic Survivor.
Note that this guide will be an early first impression of the newly released character, and her overall performances and usability may differ over time.
Skill Kit (values based on Skill Level 10)
Her Skill 1, Emergency-Crafted Bullet, is a passive skill with a 5% chance of activation when attacking, providing the following effects:
- When activated, immediately reloads 5.3% of Tove’s own magazines.
- After Emergency-Crafted Bullets activates, grant Temporary Modification to all allies, increasing their Max Ammunition Capacity by 2 rounds, stacking up to 3 times, and lasting for 5 seconds.
- Additionally, all allies also gain 5.24% Critical Damage for 5 seconds after Emergency-Crafted Bullets are activated.
Meanwhile, her Skill 2, Modification Successful, activates when allies gain the maximum stacks of Temporary Modification granted by Emergency-Crafted Bullet.
- Once activated, all allies gain a 3.32% Critical Rate continuously.
- If the allies wield a Shotgun, their Attack Speed is also increased by 42.24% continuously.
Lastly, her Burst Skill, Miracle of Makeshifts, is an active ability with a cooldown time of 20 seconds. While active, all allies gain stacks of the namesake buff, mirroring the count of the Temporary Modifications stacks for 10 seconds.
Allies who have Miracle of Makeshifts will gain 2.32% of Tove’s ATK for its duration and if the teammate uses a Shotgun, gain an additional 4.21% of Tove’s ATK as well.
Skill Breakdown
It would seem that Tove’s kit is designed to synergize greatly with Shotgun users, strengthening them greatly.
The way her abilities work is that she grants a stack of a buff named Temporary Modification through her Skill 1. Even though her Skill 1 has a 5% chance of activation, she wields an Assault Rifle that fires multiple shots within a few seconds. This means that as long as she continues to fire, the activation chances add up and Temporary Modification should be able to remain at full stacks.
When Skill 1 activates, Tove also reloads her gun, thus allowing her to reliably continue her shots and stack up Temporary Modification. With the buff active, allies will gain increased maximum ammunition capacity depending on the stacks, a beneficial effect for any weapons with low ammo counts such as Shotguns and Rocket Launchers.
The Temporary Modification is also where her other supportive abilities come in, granting allies with continuous Critical Rate if it’s fully stacked through her Skill 2. Furthermore, allies with Shotguns will have their fire rate increased by a considerable amount.
To add, her Burst will mirror the stack count of Temporary Modification and grant allies the Miracle of Makeshifts buff, bolstering their damage. While the damage increase may be lower than those from other supporters, allies using Shotgun gain an additional ATK buff on top of the existing one, granting them a heft amount of damage boost.
Final Thoughts
At a glance, Tove’s kit does not seem bad, however, Shotguns are not exactly prevalent in the meta of Goddess of Victory: Nikke at this point in time. Even with Tove’s support, the currently available Shotgun team options do seem to provide wildly inconsistent results compared to other weapon types.
That said, there are still various viable team considerations for Tove. A character immediately comes to mind is Sugar, one of the top Shotgun DPS in the game right now. Other good DPS options are Drake and Isabel, while the popular Bunny Girls are great supports to complement Tove.
However, note that Tove does not synergize with any Shotgun units with Last Bullet effects such as Marciana and Sparkling Summer Anis as the fire rate increase does not offset the extra ammo boost.
All in all, Tove has a great kit but suffers in the current meta as there are not many Shotgun characters who can leverage her abilities. She is not a must-pull, but you can still consider her if you have Sugar.
