Yaoyao, the Burgeoning Grace is finally here after 2 years of being in the void featured in the first half banner if Genshin Impact 3.4 Update.
She is a 4 Star Dendro Polearm bringing with her a rabbit like device capable of both healing you and shooting down enemies with Dendro radishes.
YAOYAO KIT
Her Elemental Skill is Raphanus Sky Cluster where she’ll throw a device called Yuegui: Throwing Mode.
This device will heal any allies near it that are at below 70% HP, else it’ll throw radish at enemies that deal Dendro damage. If there are no enemies even after that, the device will then continue to heal nearby allies HP up to full.
Only 2 devices can exist at the same time.
Yaoyao’s Elemental Burst is Moonjade Descent where she’ll deal a small AoE Dendro damage before entering Adeptal Legacy state.
Adeptal Legacy will automatically summon Yuegui Throwing Mode at a set interval up to 3 times. These devices have enhanced healing and damaging capabilities compared to her Elemental Skill. This state also increases both her movement speed and her Dendro RES.
Adeptal Legacy can either end after its duration is over or she is swapped out and the summoned devices will all be cleared.
YAOYAO PASSIVE
Her first passive is Starscatter that activates when she enters Adeptal Legacy state. Whenever she sprints, jump or run throughout the period of that state, Yaoyao will constantly throw White Jade Radishes at opponents that deals Dendro Damage.
Her second passive is In Others’ Shoes that gives allies affected by her heals a HP regeneration buff scaling with Yaoyao’s max HP.
Her adventure passive allows her to sneak near animals and Crystalflies without startling. She shares this together with Sayu.

Staff of Homa | 5★ | Crit Damage | HP increased by 20%. Additionally, provides an ATK Bonus based on 0.8% of the wielder's Max HP. When the wielder's HP is less than 50%, this ATK Bonus is increased by an additional 1% of Max HP. | Staff of Homa is your weapon for a sub DPS Yaoyao since her HP scaling build allows her to fully make use of the weapon’s passive. |
Moonpiercer | 4★ | Elemental Mastery | After triggering Burning, Quicken, Aggravate, Spread, Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon, a Leaf of Revival will be created around the character for a maximum of 10s. When picked up, the Leaf will grant the character 16% ATK for 12s. Only 1 Leaf can be generated this way every 20s. This effect can still be triggered if the character is not on the field. | Moonpiercer is for Dendro reaction teams since her Elemental Skill will constantly deal Dendro damage. If you can work around the element’s internal cooldown, your active character will gain a nice attack buff through Yaoyao |
Favonius Lance | 4★ | Energy Recharge | CRIT Hits have a 60% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s. | Favonius Lance is for battery Yaoyao since her Elemental Skill can also crit. The only downside for it is that you’ll need to build crit Yaoyao to work around the RNG of the weapon. |
Black Tassel | 3★ | HP | Increases DMG against slimes by 40%. | Black Tassel is best option if you don’t want to hyper focus on Yaoyao. The massive HP substat works well with Yaoyao’s scaling. |

STRENGTH
Her strength comes from her Elemental Skill. You can either use it to heal you, or aim it towards the enemy and have the rabbits shoot em down with Dendro. You can also summon two of them right away and not have them locked behind a constellation like a certain Outrider.
She has impressive numbers in her healing and while the damage can be a bit underwhelming, it is perfect if you want to have an off-field Dendro applicator.
WEAKNESS
One major downside to her is her Elemental Burst. Questionably enough, her Burst forces her to be a sub DPS. Yes, she throws those devices during the Burst but it clears out when you swap her out so how are you supposed to make use of it?
There’s also the matter of her healing only up to 70% when enemies are nearby. Unlike Bennett who gives attack steroids, Yaoyao’s devices will instead attack enemies and will only continue to heal you when there are no more enemies. It’s good if you’re going for an offensive Dendro application but it also means she won’t synergies well with teams that cannot make use of Dendro reactions.
SHOULD YOU PULL
She’s part of the choose your 4 Star during the Lantern Rite event so pick her if you want a new character to your roster. If you’re using it for someone else, that too is understandable.
Gameplay wise, Yaoyao works if you want a healer mixed with DPS capabilities. Her healing is impressive and the damages from her devices are decent at best but perfect if you want to apply Dendro element. Downside here is that her Burst don’t really matter much in the grand scale of things.
She luckily does not get the Faruzan treatment so if you are pulling for her, she is still useable at C0. So for those wanting a Dendro healer to pair up with your Alhaitham, I’d say you would have a great ally in Yaoyao.
