The Mimi Tomo event has arrived in Genshin Impact, so here’s a guide to this mini event. Rewards include Liyue-style furniture, Primogems, Hero’s Wit and Mora, let’s go!
STARTING THE EVENT
You will need to do the titular Mimi Tomo quest to kickstart the event. Once you save Ella Musk from the Hilichurls, she will provide you a language handbook before the event opens properly.
HANDY HANDBOOK OF HILICHURLIAN
You will need this guide throughout Mimi Tomo, to determine the correct responses. Meanings are ascribed as such:
PHRASE | MEANING | NOTES |
Gusha | Vegetables, grasses, fruits. Disliked things. | Aside from eating plants, “moshi gusha” can also express unhappiness. If a hilichurl says “Gusha” to you, you must use their tone of voice to determine if they want fruits, rice, or wheat, or if they are dissatisfied. |
Mita | Meat, delicious foods. Liked items. | “In movo lata mita / mita in movo lata / mita movo lata” refers to “meat in the water”. |
Upano | Difficult to explain, please see note. | This word is affixed to nouns and describes an upper direction, height, or flight. It can indicate flying insects, birds, clouds, patrolling knights, a small companion sent flying by a larger hilichurl. |
Celi | Hot. Something that is hot. Fire. Ocassionally “sun”: “Celi upa” without “upa” can also mean “sun”. |
“Celi lata” is an unusual figure of speech as it implies both cold and heat. This phrase generally refers to things that emit light but not heat. For example, “Celi lata gusha” is “Small Lamp Grass”, and “Celi lata” can describe things such as fireflies, stars, or the moon. |
Kucha gusha / unu gusha | Seed | Hilichurls have a habit of stockpiling seeds and may bury them when in a good mood. “Kucha” means “small”, and carries a slightly contemptuous connotation. “Unu” is the number “one”, and is a holy word that embodies the hilichurls’ concept of gods and the origin of life. Both terms can be used to describe a seed. “Du” is two, “unu du” is three, “dudu” is four, “mani” is five. Mani can also mean “hands or physical labor”. |
Sada | Solid, hard. | “Upa sada” means that you are prepared to do something. |
Boya | Used with certain words to denote colours. | Celi boya: Red Gusha boya: Green Lata boya: Blue Nini boya: White Nunu boya / sama boya: Black Unu boya: Yellow |
Du ya zido dala? | Where did this thing go? | Here as a reference. |
TIME AND DIRECTION | MEANING |
Aba mosi dada | From waking until lunch |
Unta mosi dada | Lunch until just before sunset |
Mosi aba nunu | Sunset until late night |
Unta nunu | Late night |
TRACKING
You will need to look out for Hilichurl willing to speak with you to find the Unusual Hilichurl. Find the dancing Hilichurl; the others will simply attack you as normal.
DAY ONE
The first Hilichurl will request mita movo lata, or “meat in the water”. The correct answer is to give him fish.
The second Hilichurl will ask you to fight off some enemies. You’ll need to defeat two waves of four Treasure Hoarders each.
You’ll then be given the time of sighting, unta nunu, for late night. Enter the Paimon Menu to access the clock to set a time past 00:00 to encounter the Unusual Hilichurl. As you fight him, he can spawn companions, from Shielded Mitachurl, to regular Hilichurl, and Samachurl; the Hydro Samachurl that he can spawn can heal him.
