Genshin Impact‘s Fontaine crumbs mini event is the Core of the Apparatus, wherein you need to help out a guy to make some toys not explode.

STARTING THE EVENT

Pick up the “A-Toymaking We Shall Go” World Quest and speak to Inazuma Katheryne. You’ll then be able to speak to Bertrand to start the quest.

COLLECTION

You’ll be tasked to obtain a variety of materials to help make The Great Machine work. Equip the Material Collector gadget to get started.

MATERIAL COLLECTION

ORES

Head over to the Temple of the Falcon in Mondstadt. North is plenty of ore you can break.

FLOWERS

South of the Anemo Hypostasis you can find Mint and Sweet Flowers which both count.

FRUITS

Likewise south of the Ameno Hypostasis, there’ll be Valberry, Apples for picking.

ELEMENTAL CHARGE

PYRO

Head to the marked location in Mondstadt. There are Electro Slimes in the mix, so be careful of Overload.

HYDRO

The next location is in Liyue. Avoid the Cyro Whopperflowers and run around in the shallows.

ELECTRO

Last but not least, Electro. Walk around the Electro Seelie and avoid the slimes.

CORE PROPULSION

This is the final step before the free creation unlocks. Since this involves monster hunting, you can use the the Adventurer’s Handbook to lead you to the enemy locations.

SLIME

Near Windrise.

SPECTERS

At Watatsumi Island.

HYPOSTASIS

Chose to fight the Pyro Hypostasis; you can collect the spoils afterwards.

MASS PRODUCTION

Now, you’re free to make the toys! You have to remember to open up the material collector after each process to proceed to the next one, then head back to Ritou to try create a toy, then redeem it from Bertrand.
