Costa De Sol, the famous beach area in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has a quest in which players have to find hidden Cactuar on the map.
Before going to the Beachwear main event, Tifa and Aerith need to finish some side quests first to obtain some exchange tickets. These exchange tickets can later be used to buy beachwear for Tifa and Aerith, and it is important to get the right cutscene that matches what Cloud wears.
One of those side quests will force the player to do The Cactuar Caper minigame quest, where the player is required to find four Cactuar Caper around the map. While the NPC does give you a map indicating where those are, the quest still puts your detection photography skills to the test as the locations are quite tricky and challenging to find.
As such, we have compiled a guide for you to find the location of these sneaky Cactuars:
Location 1
After you get the quest from the studio employee next to the Estudia de La Luna sign, turn left and follow the path until you reach the front desk area, this place can be recognised if you see some wheelies nearby.
Then, turn right and follow the ramp in the direction of the Run Wild minigame on the map. You’ll be able to see a camera symbol pop up when you reach here.
You can find the pink Cactuar on the rockface.
Location 2
The closest Cactuar after the first one would be at the Surf and Suntan. You can get to there by walking through the marketplace, following the path past the changing stations and heading down the ramp.
You’ll find the Cactuar on the signboard of the Surf and Suntan.
Location 3
From the Surf and Suntan, head down the street back towards where you originally got the quest. From there, you can head down the ramp next to the Estudio de la Luna stand and go to the deck next to a tower with a globe.
Once you reach the deck, run to the end of it and you should see a Cactuar on a tetrapod standing out of the ocean.
Location 4
The last Cactuar location is probably the hardest one to find in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. For this one, you want to first make your way towards the building with the Costa del Sol signage on its side. Then you head up the ramp just outside and cross the bridge towards the area where you first arrived and got off the boat.
You would notice the camera symbol pop up here, right outside a food stand. Go to the back of the food stand and you will see three fire hydrants. You’ll be able to see the small Cactuar on the bottom of the third hydrant, just to the right of the stand.
And that’s it! If you follow the locations shown in the screenshots and follow the instructions, you should be able to find all the hidden Cactuars and finish the mission. Now go have some fun in Costa De Sol.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is now available on PlayStation 5.
