The mobile Musou venture Dynasty Warriors M does have a lot of character stats, attributes, archetypes, equipment types, and so on, and it can rather confusing at times.
Here we have a guide that goes through all the different stats, equipment types, factions, and more in Dynasty Warriors M, and what to keep note of.
Attributes
When looking at the list of Officers available in the game, you will notice that they are categorized into three main attributes, namely Intelligence, Agility, and Strength.
Despite the terms, they do not exactly mean what you would expect. The Officers in this game are designed to be flexible enough that all sorts of different roles can exist in a single attribute category, whether offensive, defensive, or supportive. That said, the attribute and their features are as follows:
- Intelligence – High DEF and Crit Resist. A defensive powerhouse.
- Since there are no typical mages in Dynasty Warriors, the Intelligence category does not exactly mean spell casters but rather durable tanks in this particular game.
- Character examples: Diaochan, Dong Bai, Sun Shangxiang, Cao Cao
- Agility – High ATK and CRIT DMG. An offensive striker.
- As straightforward as it sounds, characters under this category are usually extremely offensive characters.
- Character examples: Zhao Yun, Wang Yi, Sun Quan, Xin Xianying
- Strength – High HP and Crit Rate. A balanced fighter.
- Exactly what the description states, these are characters with well-distributed and balanced stats.
- Character examples: Lu Bu, Quan Yinping, Lu Lingqi, Zhang Fei
Stats
When it comes to stats in Dynasty Warriors M, each Officer shares the same set of stats, each with an easy-to-understand term, aside from Guard. Simply put, the term Guard describes the additional gauge that a character has under their HP, serving as a stagger meter or sort.
The main stats that characters have are the following:
- HP
- ATK
- DEF
- Guard
- Crit Rate
- Crit DMG
- Crit Resist
Elements
Main attribute aside, one key feature of any Officer is the element they are aligned with, dictating whether they have the damage advantage against certain matchups.
There are 6 elements in the game, with 2 out of them being quite uncommon. The element matchups are:
- Lightning → Ice → Fire → Wind → (Circles back to Lightning)
- Slash → Poison → (Circles back to Slash)
Equipment Type
The next important aspect of a character to take note of is the equipment type as each Officer can only equip the armor type that they are associated with. There are 3 equipment types, each tied to a different color, and they are as follows:
- Light Armor (Blue) – Equipment that strikes a balance between offense and defense.
- Heavy Armor (Green) – Equipment that prioritizes increasing the wearer’s chances of survival.
- Cloth Armor (Brown) – Equipment that prioritizes mobility and damage output.
As noted, each character is tied to a specific equipment type, however, the piece they are equipped with can be further upgraded to grant them specific stats. Depending on the character, you might want to build towards certain stats to bring out their potential.
There are two special upgrade methods, one is the Polish, which grants either HP, Defend, Attack, or Guard. Meanwhile, Craft replaces the equipment’s element with your choice.
Factions
Fans of Dynasty Warriors and history buffs would know that the game while fantastical, is based heavily on the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Factions play a huge part in the historical story and the game also emphasizes that, especially with the leaders of each kingdom having powerful synergy with their followers, granting them with special passive buffs.
- Wei (魏)
- Also known as Cao Wei (曹魏), the kingdom is symbolized by the color blue and is led by Cao Cao.
- Wu (呉)
- Sometimes known as Sun Wu (孫呉) or Eastern Wu (東呉), the kingdom is led by the Sun family and coded to the color red.
- Shu (蜀)
- Symbolized by the color green, Shu was ruled by Liu Bei along with his sworn brothers Guan Yu and Zhang Fei.
- Jin (晋)
- Occasionally called Western Jin (西晋), the kingdom had its roots in Sima Yi and is associated with the color light blue.
Much like other Dynasty Warriors titles, the mobile Musou also has characters Unaffiliated with any of the three kingdoms such as Lu Bu, Dong Bai, and Diaochan.
