As you adventure through Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, you may come across a monster egg in certain parts of the maps. In this guide, we will go through how you can obtain an egg, what are their spawn conditions, and a list of monsters only obtainable through eggs.
Monster egg is a returning mechanic from the previous Dragon Quest Monsters games and is one of the many ways players can obtain monsters.
Egg Rarity and Their Spawn Conditions
For eggs to begin appearing in the overworld, players must first clear Terrestria, the first explorable area in the game.
There are four tiers of egg rarities, which are White, Silver, Gold, and Rainbow. Each rarity tier will determine what rank of monsters will spawn. Note that eggs in the overworld will appear White, so there is no way to determine the rarity of them until you pick them up.
The rate at which rare eggs spawn increases as difficulty increases, so it is recommended to explore the Upper Echelon levels for a higher chance of obtaining Silver, Gold, and Rainbow Eggs.
The spawn conditions and monster ranks in the eggs are as follows:
Egg Rarity | Monster Rank | Spawn Conditions |
White | G Rank / F Rank | After clearing Terrestria |
Silver | E Rank / D Rank | |
Gold | C Rank / B Rank | After clearing [Cradle of Corruption] Lower Level |
Rainbow | A Rank | After clearing [Cradle of Corruption] Middle Level |
Egg-Only Monsters List
While synthesis plays a big part in the game to obtain monsters, there are some that are only obtainable exclusively through hatching eggs, making them incredibly rare. Here is the list of egg-only monsters and where to find them.
