The Skills of Schwarzwalder
Schwarzwalder enters the Cookie Run Kingdom as a charge unit that stands in the front row. His skill is called Choco Chip Hammer.
“Each of Schwarzwalder’s regular attack has a chance to stun the target. Upon using the skill, Schwarzwalder will receive the Howling effect, increasing his own ATK SPD, and DMG Resist, and increasing the team’s ATK. When the effect duration is over, Schwarzwälder will charge at the enemies, strike them with his hammer, stun them, and inflict the Hammer Shock debuff. The debuff will reduce the enemies’ ATK and cause them to receive more damage from the next Schwarzwälder’s skill attacks with the hammer.”
Here are each his stats upon using the skill:
- 12-second Cooldown (2-second starting CD)
- Regular Attack Stun: 1.0 sec with 50.0% chance
- Charge DMG: 79.2%
- Hammer DMG: 244.9% & Stun for 2.5 sec
- Hammer Shock Debuff: ATK -5.5% & Extra Skill DMG with Hammer +200.0% for 40.0 sec; stacks up to x3
- ATK: +15.0 for 8.0 sec
- ATK SPD: +35.0% for 8.0 sec
- DMG Resist: +30.0% for 8.0 sec
The Best Use of Schwarzwalder?
Please note, that as with every new Cookie added to Cookie Run Kingdom new strategies and uses are still being formed by the player base but this is what we found based on first impressions:
After so many new unorthodox units, Schwarzwalder is an almost refreshingly straightforward charge cookie. He hits hard with powerful regular attacks and even more powerful skills, made better with some good offensive and defensive buffs, which also have a high chance of stunning enemies and stunning them for a good while. This combined with his fairly solid general defense makes him an all-around good unit for both PvE and PvP.
The only real drawback for the Choco brute is that his skill animation is a little on the slow side as you have to wait for him to raise up his hammer to drop it again. This leaves him vulnerable to attack although this is somewhat negated by the skill giving him a buffed damage resistance.
His very direct strategy also means he can adapt to work well with most preexisting teams. Overall I can see people making good use of this guy, he’s not very complicated, just a big brute with great offense which can work well in-game, and very much fits his character.
Best Toppings
Is this unit a charge cookie? Then you gotta give him full solid almonds. When you have an offense-based cookie on the front lines, you want them to be able to take as many hits as possible which means you want solid almonds to buff their damage resistance.
As always swift chocolates make for a good alternative if you want to activate their skill faster but like a lot of other charge cookies, the big chocolate doggo has a fairly low cooldown so he’ll likely still be ok without them.
Who Is Schwarzwalder?
Schwarzwalder has been a recurring antagonist since Cookie Run Kingdom first launched being a loyal servant of Black Licorice Cookie who in turn works for the game’s main antagonist Dark Enchantress Cookie. He’s been involved in numerous plots across different arcs with the most well-known being when he entered into the Hollybery Kingdom Princess contest as Choco Werehound Princess.
“Red eyes, rough mane, sharp fangs! His name is Choco Werehound Brute, and his enormous hammer will make the Cookie Kingdom tremble! And if the sound of the distant thumping of this fearsome giant’s heavy feet is not enough, his roar will make you faint! Choco Werehound Brute might be no more than Licorice Cookie’s underling running itsy-bitsy errands, but his ambitions do not end here. Far from it! One day, he will become the strongest Cake Monster, and then, THEN…! The whole world will fear the name “Choco Werehound Brute!” And so, the big dreamer bids farewell to another gorgeous sunset under the pouring rain… The life of an upstart villain is rough and tough, but Choco Werehound Brute must be strong. He must not let anyone know of his proper aristocratic upbringing and his real name… Schwarzwalder.”
