Five slots, five items, random stats. In Genshin Impact, these Artifacts would probably give you quite a bit of a headache especially when you want to min max the stats, more so when they come in random stat distributions. When you enhance them, they also get additional stats, for even more of a good time (?). Here are what you should look out for.
STATS
The five artifact types all carry their own base stats which you preferably prioritize in order:
- Feather: ATK only
- Flower: HP only
- Sands: ATK % > Elemental Mastery > Elemental Recharge
- Goblet: ATK % / Elemental Bonus > Physical Bonus
- Circlet: ATK % > Critical Rate % > Critical Damage %
Once you upgrade them, they gain additional stats, preferably:
- ATK %
- Elemental Mastery %
- Critical Rate %
- Critical Damage %
THE SETS
Following that, the artifacts also grant additional bonuses when you have multiple pieces of the same set. Here are the currently available sets of Artifacts for Genshin Impact version 1.0.

Upon obtaining a crystal created through a Geo Elemental Reaction, all party members gain 35% RES to that particular element for 10s. Only one form of Elemental RES can be gained in this manner at any one time.

When HP is below 70%, CRIT Rate increases by an additional 24%.

Bloodstained Chivalry | Physical DMG +25% |
After defeating an opponent, increases Charged Attack DMG by 50%, and reduces its Stamina cost to 0 for 10s.

Brave Heart | ATK +18% |
Increases DMG by 30% against enemies with more than 50% HP.

Crimson Witch of Flames | Pyro DMG Bonus +15% |
Increases Overloaded and Burning DMG by 40%. Increases Vaporize and Melt DMG by 15%. Using an Elemental Skill increases 2-Piece Set effects by 50% for 10s. Max 3 stacks.

Defeating an enemy has 100% chance to remove Elemental Skill CD. Can only occur once every 15s.

Increases Superconduct DMG by 50%. Increases Melt DMG by 15%. Using an Elemental Burst increases Cryo DMG by 25% for 10s.

Gladiator’s Finale | ATK +18% |
If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%.

Icebreaker | Cryo RES increased by 40% |
Increases DMG against enemies in a Frozen state or affected by cryo by 35%.

Instructor | Increases Elemental Mastery by 80. |
After using Elemental Skill, increases all party members’ Elemental Mastery by 120 for 8s.

Lavawalker | Pyro RES increased by 40% |
Increases DMG against enemies that are Burning or affected by Pyro by 35%.

Lucky Dog | DEF increased by 100. |
Picking up Mora restores 300 HP.

Maiden Beloved | Character Healing Effectiveness +15% |
Using an Elemental Skill or Burst increases healing received by all party members by 20% for 10s.

Martial Artist | Increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 15%. |
After using Elemental Skill, increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 25% for 8s.

Noblesse Oblige | Elemental Burst DMG +20% |
Using an Elemental Burst increase all party members’ ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.

Increases Charged Attack CRIT Rate by 30%.

Retracing Bolide | Increases Shield Strength by 35%. |
While protected by a shield, gain an additional 40% Normal and Charged Attack DMG.

Scholar | Energy Recharge +20% |
Gaining Energy gives 3 Energy to all party members who have a bow or a catalyst equipped. Can only occurs once every 3s.

The Exile | Energy Recharge +20% |
Using an Elemental Burst regenerates 2 Energy for other party members every 2s for 6s. This effect cannot stack.

Thundering Fury | Electro DMG Bonus +15% |
Increases damage caused by Overloaded, Electro-Charged, and Superconduct DMG by 40%. Triggering such effects decreases Elemental Skill CD by 1s. Can only occur once every 0.8s.

Thundersoother | Electro RES increased by 40% |
Increases DMG against enemies affected by Electro by 35%.
|
Tiny Miracle | All Elemental RES increased by 20% |
Incoming elemental DMG increases corresponding Elemental RES by 30% for 10s. Can only occur once every 10s.

Traveling Doctor | Increases incoming healing by 20%. |
Using Elemental Burst restores 20% HP.

Viridescent Venerer | Anemo DMG Bonus +15% |
Increases Swirl DMG by 60%. Decreases opponent’s Elemental RES to the element infused in the Swirl by 40% for 10s.

Wanderer’s Troupe | Elemental Mastery +80 |
Increases Charged Attack DMG by 35% if the character uses a Catalyst or Bow.
|
EQUIP WHAT ON WHO?
The current consensus on what NOT to equip:
- Skip on Healing Effectiveness for Healers
- Resistance or Defense Artifacts
- Preferably you’d avoid damage altogether from dodging
Characters are roughly sorted into the following roles as of version 1.0:
- Main DPS: They have low cooldown on their Elemental Skills, and also deal decent auto attack damage
- Alternate DPS: Runs the whole gamut from debuffing, crowd control, generating energy, triggering elemental reactions to further increase damage output
- Support: The more rigid healers, debuffers and defensive characters

- There are currently no sets for Hydro
Recommended sets for the Support include:
- 4-piece The Exile : Energy Recharge +20%, Elemental Burst regenerates 2 Energy for other party members every 2s for 6s
- 4-piece Noblesse Oblige : Elemental Burst Damage +20%, Elemental Burst increases all party members’ ATK by 20% for 12s
Of course, you should take into consideration Talents where relevant, like how Barbara’s healing scales off her HP, or Jean’s scaling off her ATK.
