Rockstar Games has released a free upgrade for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) V on PC, bringing exciting new features to players across the Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam, and Epic Games platforms. Existing GTAV PC owners can upgrade at no cost and migrate their Story Mode and Online progress, while new players will receive both the Enhanced and Legacy versions of the game.

The upgrade introduces several compelling additions to GTA Online, including new vehicles like the Pegassi Weaponized Ignus, Coil Cyclone II, Karin S95, Imponte Arbiter GT, and Pfister Astron Custom. Players can now explore enhanced vehicle modifications through Hao’s Special Works, participate in a new Wildlife Photography Challenge in Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness, and take advantage of the Career Builder feature, which offers a generous GTA$4,000,000 starting bonus.
Technical improvements are particularly noteworthy for PC players with recommended specifications. The upgrade brings ray tracing features, including ambient occlusion and global illumination, support for AMD FSR and NVIDIA DLSS, DualSense® controller compatibility, faster loading times with SSD and DirectStorage, and enhanced audio with Dolby Atmos support. Players will also benefit from improved resolution and framerate capabilities.

An important consideration for players is that the Legacy version remains accessible for those with older hardware, though online players must use the same game version to play together. The update also includes recent anti-cheat and moderation improvements to ensure a fair gaming experience.

The latest content update, “Oscar Guzman Flies Again,” allows players to expand their arms trafficking business by taking control of the McKenzie Field Hangar in Grapeseed. Additionally, GTA+ members can claim a free Principe Deveste Eight supercar through May 28 as part of the Classics Collection celebration, adding even more excitement to the upgrade.
