The first trailer for the hotly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI (hereafter, “GTA 6”) premiered 2 days ago and it has already set world records.
According to Guinness World Records, GTA 6 has already broken three official records just by the trailer alone and the game has not even been released yet.
The big highlighted achievement of the trailer is it becoming the most viewed video on YouTube within 24 hours of upload, with 113 million views as of writing.
In comparison, the reveal trailer for Grand Theft Auto V had only hit 102 million views as of writing, 12 years after its release.
A thing to note is that the trailer is a non-music video and it has also surpassed the seemingly untouchable Mr. Beast with his video titled “Every Country On Earth Fights For $250,000“, which reached 59.4 million views in 24 hours.
This means the GTA 6 trailer has broken both the most viewed video game reveal and most watched non-music video on YouTube in 24 hours.
Not only that, the trailer for GTA 6 has also been marked as the most liked video game trailer on YouTube, garnering 8.9 million likes in the first 24 hours alone.
The latest installment in the open-world crime series is set to release sometime in 2025 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no mention of a Windows PC version.
Returning to a reimagined Vice City, players will be following protagonist Lucia and her partner as they go about their lives in the state of Leonida.
