Blade & Soul: Revolution is a mobile MMORPG by Netmarble based on the widely popular Blade & Soul IP. Ahead of its official release in South Korea this December 6, we got a chance to get our hands on its demo version during G-Star 2018. So check out our Blade & Soul: Revolution hands-on impression below if you wish to know more about the game!
In the demo, we got to choose our character from one of the 4 races – Jin, Gon, Yun and Lyn. I choose to play as Gon, and I am allowed to customize the character appearance from the height, skin colour to smaller details like head size and eyebrow size.
Since the game is made by Unreal Engine 4, you can easily expect stunning graphics during both cinematic cutscenes and battles. The cutscenes are featuring full Korean voiceovers, and you can gladfully know that the scenes and NPCs resemble its PC version a lot.
On the gameplay part, you will be able to glide and sprint in the massive open world freely just like the PC version. There is a left joystick for you to move your character around, while on the right side you will have a few buttons for skill release and attack. Apparently there are 4 skills that you can release in two stage and a block move that shield you from enemies’ attack. Of course, dealing combos grants you some bonus attack so you should stack up your combos.
Although we didn’t show it in our gameplay video, the game does feature boss fight too. From my experience, playing the game on a big screen (like iPad) doesn’t really feel comfortable as the action buttons such as chat will be difficult to reach if you are holding the device.
Blade & Soul: Revolution is coming out for mobile devices in Korea on December 6, and we hope the good news for the global players will arrive soon. You can check out the official website for more information, or pre-register if you have a Korean phone number.
Special thanks to Acer who gave us the chance to attend G-STAR 2018 live, you can visit their official site or Facebook for more updates and details about their product!
