GrandChase is now available for download worldwide on Android and iOS. Previously, the game was only released in Korea, Japan and the Philippines.
We recently covered the pre-registration for the global server of GrandChase last week. For those who did not know, GrandChase is the official sequel to the now closed PC online game, Grand Chase. Characters from the original return in the sequel but may fill roles in a different capacity.
Unlike the original, GrandChase carries a different playstyle. In the original, players pick one character to battle their way in a side-scrolling dungeon crawler. However, the sequel focuses on controlling an entire party, putting more emphasis on strategy. Using flicks of the thumb, players decide the actions of their characters including setting up attacks and re-positioning.
Graphics-wise, the game features some great graphics. Some of the effects like the damage numbers are the same with the original game. Furthermore, the game runs quite fluidly despite the high amount of stuff on screen at times. Developers even add in some fan service by including cut-in animations when some of the characters unleash their ultimate abilities.
On the surface, GrandChase looks to capitalize on the nostalgia factor by appealing to fans of the original. Yet, the decision to stray away from its classic side scroller may not sit well with some fans. However, the game carries its own charm and by using a different gameplay, it also aims to attract new players. Regardless if you are a fan of the original or not, check out this game. Considering the success the franchise had before this game, expect the same to apply in GrandChase.
