Cygames and Arc System Works have announced that they will be releasing an updated version of Granblue Fantasy Versus titled ‘Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.
The new version of the fighting game spin-off will launch in 2023 for the PS4, PS5, and PC. Cygames has also uploaded a new trailer for the game:
“Dare to rumble with the best like never before with all-new characters, mechanics, and modes in the sequel to the revolutionary fighting game praised by both newcomers and fighting game veterans alike”.
It has been confirmed that Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will feature rollback netcode, an all-new lobby system in the form of an island, as well as crossplay between different consoles. The game will also add new characters and a new story although these have not been unveiled yet.
In terms of combat, there will be a new mechanic added to the game called Ultimate Skills, a more powerful version of the Plus Skills ability from the original game.
The developers have also said that the game will feature new enhanced graphics that better replicate the look of the characters as they were in the original mobile game.
Finally, there will also be a number of new multiplayer party games included in the game under a new mode called Grand Bruise Legends. Some of the minigames included in this mode are:
- Rising Royale – Race to the finish while avoiding obstacles and use items to take out other players in this topsy-turvy battle royale!
- Gold Brick Hoarder – Wrangle up Gold Bricks and take them to your team’s stockpile within the time limit. Just like in Skybound Sprint, you might need to play dirty to win!
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will launch worldwide for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
