Cygames has announced a delay for its upcoming Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising fighting game, just weeks before its release.
In a statement on the website, they confirmed that Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising would be facing a delay, and will now release on December 14th, missing its November 30th release date.
Players with Early Access will now be able to play the game from December 11th instead.
“After our first online beta was held in July, the development team pulled out all the stops to rework the game’s mechanics and battle design in time for the initially scheduled release date. Despite our best efforts, however, it has become clear to me that additional time will be needed to put the finishing touches on the game”, the statement reads.
They also expressed their gratitude to feedback from the recent Open Beta– saying that it’s the implementation of said feedback that’s causing the game to be pushed back two weeks.
“Due to the number of modes that were affected by these changes, we found the overall impact to be much larger than anticipated, and decided that, in order to meet player expectations, we would need two more weeks of polish and debugging to put out a truly high-quality product”.
Another Open Beta will also run from November 9th to November 12th.
Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising is a re-release of the original Granblue Fantasy Versus, with new characters as well as new mechanics for the fighter.
