God Eater Resonant Ops, a mobile offering of the God Eater series, ends service. The announcement was made on Twitter and can be seen on its official website. The official closing date is on 24 September 2020, giving it time to complete the current run of summer events, which has log in rewards. Purchase of premium in-game currency will cease 24 August 2020. The game managed to run 2 1/2 years.
The mobile title was a turn-based game compared to the more active time battle system of its console entries. The story was set 4 years after the end of God Eater 2 Rage Burst, pushing the story forward “at last” towards Fenrir Headquarters.
The God Eaters would be accompanied by “Dividiers”, new personnel who were meant to support them. Dividers can improve the physical capabilities of a God Eater, among other supportive benefits.
God Eater Resonant Ops ends service without seeing a global release, which is unfortunate. Perhaps fans would prefer a new console title rather than a mobile offering, but we probably won’t be hearing about that just yet, unless Bandai Namco surprises us? In any case, if you want to have a last hurrah, the summer log in event with customary swimsuits is running.
