After a brief stint since launching in February 2017, God Eater Online will be endings its service in Japan on 27 September 2018, just shy of two years of being in operations.
Purchase of the in-game premium currency Oracle Cubes will cease on 27 August 2018. Any Oracle Cubes that players have purchased will be available for use until service ends, so fret not if you still have any left.
An overview of the game from our previous report:
God Eater Online is an action MMO which features lots of familiar elements from the God Eater series. The game story sets its background in the Himalayas branch years after the God Eater 2: Rage Burst events. As an addition, there will also be some new characters for you to meet and team up with.
While it is unfortunate to see the God Eater’s first attempt at mobage end like this, the game is in fact succeeded by the God Eater Resonant Ops which came out earlier in April 2018, so let’s hope that fares slightly better.
