Goblin Slayer made its mark in 2018 through the airing of one of the more controversial first episodes, and since then it has cemented itself as one of the well-received high fantasy anime amongst fans. The show closed out the first season with a tease of more to come, and sure enough, there will be a special episode scheduled to be aired in Japan in February 2020. A new trailer for Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown has just dropped, given us a better idea as to what to expect.
That said it is unclear as to whether or not this special release will the only return for the show, but we will be getting more of the fight scenes from the light novel. As hinted throughout the first seasons, the titular goblins have evolved to become more ferocious and intelligent, suggesting a greater threat.
We have no idea either how long this is going to be be, but one confirmed detail is the addition of new character, Brave Fencer, who will be voiced by Uesaka Sumire. Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown will be adapting the story of Volume 5, with the cast making a return.
The newest trailer for Goblin’s Crown marks what is most likely the final one we’ll get before the special episode hits theaters. There’s also no information as to how long this new special is (confirming whether or not it’s a full length feature film), but what has been confirmed is a new addition to the cast with Sumire Uesaka voicing the newest character, Brave Fencer.
This special episode is expected to adapt the story found in Volume 5 of the original light novels, and will feature a returning staff and voice cast. To not give away too much of the plot from said volume, all we are going to say is that the Goblin Slayer and party will embark on quest to rescue a noblewoman, and on the way they discover that the goblins have made a base out of an ancient dwarven fortress.
