Gloria Union: Twin Fates in Blue Ocean FHD Edition will be an enhanced port of the original Gloria Union: Twin Fates in Blue Ocean that was released in June 2011, with digital releases for mobile – namely Android and iOS – as well as the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2021, as announced via developer Sting. The game was released for the Playstation Portable only in Japan, as part of the Union sub-series of the Department Heaven series, following Yggdra Unison and Blaze Union.
Mobile and Switch players for the Gloria Union: Twin Fates in Blue Ocean remaster will find additional features, including balance adjustments, high definition resolution and ease of play changes. The main games of the Department Heaven series were localized by Atlus for English-speaking audiences, while the Union sub-series have all been Japan exclusive.
Considering how Gloria Union seems pretty separate even from its own sub-series, this might be a chance for the game to get localized, bringing another take on the tactical role-playing genre after so long. The Dept. Heaven series was also supposedly going to get an MMO for PC when it was revealed in 2008, but nothing seems to have come of the project. Will the port breathe new life into the series? Time will tell.
