Crunchyroll has announced that the global version of Princess Connect Re : Dive is to shut down services; marking the game’s end over 2 years since its release.
The full notice on the game’s shut down is available on the Princess Connect Re:Dive official website, and it states that the end of service will fall on 30th April 2023 (UTC).
While brief, players can still enjoy the game and its contents for one month; albeit without the option to purchase in-game currencies. However, players are able to use accrued Jewels or similar resources until the game’s closure. Additionally, the two new characters Rin (Ranger) and Mahiru (Ranger) will still be releasing according to schedule.
Via AppMagic, Princess Connect Re : Dive had amassed a total revenue of over 14 Million USD worldwide; with the United States being its largest contributor of 66% of revenue, followed by Canada with 7%. The game peaked during its second month of release back in January 2021. And while it did took a dip throughout its service, there were still some spikes in revenue, most notably during June 2022.
We know this is unfortunate news to hear, and relaying a decision like this to everyone does not come easy. However, one thing is absolutely clear: we are immensely grateful and thankful to all of the loyal fans and players that have enjoyed Princess Connect! Re: Dive. We only hope that everyone has enjoyed the past two-plus years together as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you.
