Japanese mecha series Getter Robo is getting a live-action movie; which is set to be released in Spring 2025 as part of the series’ 50th anniversary.
For those not in the know, Getter Robo is a manga serialised for Weekly Shonen Sunday by Go Nagai and Ken Ishikawa. Additionally, Getter Robo also had an anime series which was broadcast on Fuji Television back in 1974.
According to Japanese news site Oricon News mentions that Junya Okabe will be the producer, director, and screenwritter for the movie. Junya had also worked as a producer for several titles such as BraveStorm, ZVP, and the weirdly named Cat Shit One.
Fans of the series can also check out some early concept art of the various mechs which will appear in the movie. The concept art was drawn by Skan Srisuwan, who worked on No More Heroes III, Marvel Snap, and BraveStorm.
