The Genshin Impact Twitter Account has announced that voice actor (VA) Elliot Gindi will no longer be voicing the character of Tighnari following the revelation and confirmation of his sexual harassment allegations. Genshin says that they are working with voice recording agencies to cast a new VA for the role of Tighnari and will gradually be replacing the character’s in-game voice lines.
At present, we are communicating with the voice recording agency regarding matters of casting and re-recording. We will gradually replace Tighnari’s existing in-game voice lines, and issue these updates in the corresponding announcements. Thank you for your support, Travelers!

On the 8th of February 2023, Twitter user FretCore uploaded a document to the platform with evidence of Elliot Gindi sexually harassing users, some of whom were underage over his discord account.
Soon after, Gindi admitted to the majority of accusations being accurate and apologized for his behavior, saying that “I understand that my actions have consequences, and am committing myself to accept my responsibility while making the effort to get – and do – better”
The news of his replacement as the VA for Tighnari has been well-received by the English-speaking Genshin Impact fanbase and fellow voice actors.
“Love you Hoyoverse,” said Zack Aguilar, the voice of Genshin’s main protagonist Aether. Others including Diluc voice actor Sean Chiplock have simply replied “Thank you” to the developers for removing Gindi from the game.
